Berkeley Hutsebout

Berkeley Hutsebout is a painter and printmaker who often finds herself drifting into the realms of fibre and ceramic arts. She was exposed to this multi-disciplinary approach to art making during her studies at Oregon College of Art and Craft in Portland, Oregon where she received her BFA in Craft. Her work expresses conscious observations of the self and varying degrees of relationships symbolized in circles, threads, and braids. Past work includes themes of uncertainty, interconnection, and mind-body intersection. One winter morning in 2016 she awoke and realized she had moved – far away from her hometown of Los Angeles, CA – to Mishawaka, Indiana where she is currently delving into themes of ancestral knowledge and plant wisdom.
