My art focuses on the landscape as a serene counterpoint to our urban culture and hectic lives. Pastels have been my favorite medium since 1986.
I teach pastels and drawing at the South Bend Museum of Art, Battell Center, Mishawaka and in workshops and private lessons. I founded the Northern Indiana Pastel Society in 2006 and serve as president, organizing exhibits, workshops and meetings. I have volunteered as a docent for 15 years at the South Bend Art Museum and the Snite Museum of Art, Notre Dame, Indiana . I am a board member of Northern Indiana Artists and Art League of The South Bend Museum of Art.
I received a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where I studied Art and English. I worked as a journalist for newspapers in Wisconsin, Colorado Springs and Phoenix before moving to Granger, Indiana in December 2000.
My art is in the permanent collections of University of Notre Dame London Program, Southwestern Michigan College, Lake City Bank, Colfax Cultural Center, Lakeland Hospital and Charles M. Schulz Studio.
